Over the years, I’ve been tempted to enroll my kids in etiquette classes. I always thought it was about manners and which fork to use. Somehow it never got done. It didn’t seem important enough. BOY, WAS I WRONG!
In this podcast episode, Monica Irvine from the Etiquette Factory explains what etiquette really is. It is all about being kind. And we need more kindness in the world!
Monica started the Etiquette Factory when she was homeschooling her children. She got the idea when they studied George Washington and found his “Rules of Civility.” She got a vision of how learning these 110 rules would benefit society. And that is how the Etiquette Factory was born.
My older boys missed out on these amazing lessons. My youngest will start her online classes this semester, and I’m so excited about it! He isn’t sure what direction he wants to go in life, but he knows that part of his mission is to make the world better. Learning the skills of being kind definitely will help!
Monica has an amazing website and podcast! Be sure to check them out!
Monica is a speaker at this year’s Homeschool Conference! Be sure to register to watch her presentation “Discipline with Love so We Don’t Break Our Child’s Spirit.”
