When I first started homeschooling, I had four little boys. To say that I was overwhelmed is an understatement.

I met this wonderful woman named Tamara. She had been homeschooling for a while and was starting a homeschool group. She selflessly gave of her time to support my family and me in our homeschooling journey. She gave me the confidence to stick with it, and she created a community that changed my life.

After 5 years, I moved to another state. I floundered for a while without the support of a community. But then another woman came into my life. Angela. She not only created a community, but she included me in the creation process. She inspired me to do more and be more. And she did the same for my sons.

Many others have been there to help me on my journey, and I am grateful to each one. They have changed my life and my family’s life.

Our four oldest sons have graduated, and gone onto college and careers they chose. Our youngest just started high school. Homeschooling has been the lifestyle we chose for many reasons, and it has grown to be my biggest passion.

My passion for helping homeschoolers has led me down many paths I never could have imagined. I earned my teaching credential and my second master’s degree, I’ve organized several homeschooling conferences, and been a speaker for many more homeschooling events. I’ve supported homeschooling families through a charter school, through an educational leadership organization, and through workshops for parents. 

As my boys have gotten older, I’ve realize how much I want to help other homeschooling parents like you… why? Because I attribute my homeschooling success to the mentors I’ve been lucky enough to work with along my way. 

That is why I do what I do. To pay it forward.
